Importing files from computer into lightroom Empty Importing files from computer into lightroom

I am importing files from a folder on my computer. These files were crereated in. Aperture. Now that i have imported them can. I delete therm. From my hard. Drive they are raw files and am not sure if I need to keep them on the hard drrive or is the whole file now stored. In. Lightrroom?
